Statement by Kristen Day, Executive Director, Democrats For Life of America The House is gearing up to consider H.R.3755, the “Women's Health Protection Act.” Democrats For Life of America strongly urges a no vote on this anti-women, anti-safety legislation. This proposed legislation would enshrine violence against the preborn in American law and put women’s lives and health at risk. Washington, D.C., September 7, 2021 --  Democrats for Life of America congratulates the state of Texas as its heartbeat law took effect on September 1, 2021. Statement on Supreme Court Allowing Texas Law to Go into Effect

By Sophie Trist, DFLA Messaging Director I am encouraged that the Supreme Court has allowed the Texas law to go into effect. It shows that the high court is finally reckoning with its disastrous decision in Roe v. Wade, which has cost over sixty million lives. But by emphasizing surveillance and punishment over restoration and healing, the Texas law is not giving pregant people the compassionate care and community support that will make the violence of abortion unthinkable.
